ACHILLE Tripod

The strongest, safest and most stable freestanding aerial rig on the market. It does not require any ground anchorages, and can be set-up by a single person.

 The ACHILLE  is highly recommended for artists that travel, with a total weight of 165 lbs - 69 kg for the full 24'/ 7.3m version  (weight varies depending on options and height used). It is very lightweight while being very stable. with a Minimum Breaking load of 5500 Lbs/2500 Kg. it  has plenty of strength to easily handle solo and duos with dynamic loads . 

This rig comes standard with one point Central eye bolt attachment point, but is designed to be used with the optional trapeze spreader bar (to be purchased separately). You can also protect your investment by adding a kit of aluminum (3) stakes to your order. Designed to keep your Achilles Tripod anchored to the ground and prevent it from falling over in high winds, the stakes are made of aluminum and are 30'' long, made with a 3/4'' rod.

• Optional Trapeze spreader bar allows 2 points rigging, perfect for trapeze, bungees, Loop-rope or loop tissue.
• Optional Aluminum stakes to prevent your Tripod from falling over and damaging the structure in high winds.

Should you wish to lift either artists or props up and down, you will also need  to purchase either : 

• A Rope and pulley system with No mechanical advantage: Purchase the : Top Pulley + Basic Rope Kit

• A Rope and pulley with a mechanical advantage of a 3:1 ratio. Purchase the:  3:1 Pulley Block Kit ( Also very useful for raising and lowering the structure.)

Our Tripods are made using only aluminum and stainless steel, making them good to leave assembled outside for extended periods of time. If you do decide to leave your rig outdoors, please follow these guidelines:

• Make sure that the rig is secured and safe from children or onlookers.
• Add Grease to the threads of the bolts on your rig regularly to prevent them from rusting.
• If you plan on leaving your rigging equipment installed outside for a long period of time be sure to use our marine grade pulleys and ropes.
• Make sure the ropes are kept off the ground to stay dry as much as possible.
• In places with extremely hot and sunny weather, the ropes will deteriorate faster.  Ropes left outside all year round should be replaced every 6 to 24 months, regularly inspect them.
• If you live in an area where it snows in the winter, it is best to bring your rig inside during those months.

Trapeze Spreader Bar

• Attached on top, the  Trapeze Spreader bar allows for 2 rigging points, with the same approved load capacity as the Tripod on the rigging points. 
• The Trapeze Spreader bar has a width of 36" (33" Between attachment points), designed precisely for either fixe or dance trapezes. 

Aluminum Stakes

• Designed to keep your Achilles Tripod anchored to the ground and prevent it from falling over in high winds.
• They are manufactured of aluminum and are 30'' long, made with a 3/4'' rod. 

Cables Kits Available

• Our tripods come with the standard cable kits for your chosen height option (16'/20'/24'). To adjust to lower heights, you need to use cables of a different length between the legs.

• If you wish, you can make them/purchase them locally also. The cable lengths needed are provided with the instruction manual for the Freestanding Aerial Rig Structure Achille.  
• Load certified cables are mandatory for safety purposes.
• One kit of 3 cables per tripod height is necessary.
• If you wish you could set up the tripod lower with home made cables, or we can make them upon request.

Rigging Accessories: (Sold Separately) 

The tripod comes with Eye Bolts for attachment. You will need Carabiners, Pulleys, Ropes, and more depending on your needs. Here are some suggestions:

Top Pulley

• Ronstan 61400 Bearing Pulley: Soft and smooth operation. Minimum Breaking Load 4410 Lbs.
• Ronstan 74100 Bearing Pulley: Soft and smooth operation. Minimum Breaking Load 6600 Lbs - RECOMMENDED

Pulley Block 3:1 Ratio (Palan 3:1)

• A complete pulley block assembly with 3 for 1 force ratio.  Pulley Block (Palan) 3:1 allows one single person to pull up and down around 2.5 times their own weight. 
• Includes: One Rock-D Auto-Lock carabiner C2 A-B  on a Crosby Shackle
• Includes: One Double Pulley on Swivel, one Single Pulley with Top Attachment Point on Swivel, and 120' Double-Braid Polyester Static Rope 1/2"
• Ideal for solo and duo acts that need to go up and down.

• The ENFORCER Load Cell can let you know the loads applied to your structure and points to make sure to never overload them, and to ensure sufficient rigging.
